What is a Selfie?
A Selfie is when a person takes a picture of them self with their smart phone.A selfie has to include a person in it. That's what I think because what is a Selfie if their isn't a person in it? It can include other people like a selfie normally includes more than 4 people and thats what makes it a selfie. You can take many different selfies like a mirror selfie,a selfie you can do it many ways they usually use mirror selfie.
Vivian Maier
Vivian Maier was an American street photographer. At the same time she was a nanny. When Vivian Maier was looking after the kids she would take them out so she can take images because she really loved taking photos. Vivian had a Rolleiflex camera so when she was taking the photos no one would know because with those camera's you just had to look down to focus it and you would the photo.
Vivian Maier always had the camera around her neck. Vivian was a private woman she didn't like anyone looking through her stuff and she kept all her photos a secret she didn't show anyone her beautiful work. She also left most of her work incomplete. |
The Selfie Book
This is my Selfie Book and I used these images with me and my sister. Some of these images are really old images from when I was small and some are new images and I tried to make them all different. There are some embarrassing images but I wanted stuff I wouldn't in there to be in the book. It didn't really take long to do this book I did this online. I like my book it's really cute and I put the best picture of me and my sister on the cover because I wanted to start off with something nice.

How to use Photoshop
This is my selfie that I took and when I was looking at it I thought that I could make it better so I went on photoshop and made it interesting and now when I look at it I really think that I changed something so boring into something really questioning and I want you to be asking question because thats my aim to make you wondering and questioning.Like our habits.
The habits that I'm trying to work at is persistent:sticking with difficulty, daring to be different, tolerating uncertainty.Im also trying to use Disciplined:crafting and improving, reflecting critically, developing techniques.
Self Portrait Comparison
Friedlander's image is different to the others.Because he has used a shop mirror to take this image.Friedlander stuck a mirror on the mirror so it's a mirror selfie. In Woodman's photograph I can see a big mirror and in the door I can't see the photographer himself I can see a hand on a white thing. Its really different to the other photographer (Friedlander) because he doesn't show himself only his hand.Josephson's photograph is another way of taking a selfie because he's included someone else's hand and you can see his arm and his shadow.I think that all 3 of these photographs look different to each other.
Woodman's photography is different to the other photographers because he doesn't show himself in the photograph he just shows his hand and feel.Friedlander's photograph has a mirror shop and it shows him reflection and another person in his image. All 3 photographers has included another person in their image.Josephson's photograph has been included with a car and he has a paper thats been cut up showing another person's hand. You can also see the photographer's arm and his shadow.
Friedlander's image is mysterious because you can see his reflection but he also put a mirror on the window so you can see him on the mirror.Woodman's photograph is questioning because we don't know if thats a mirror reflecting stuff.Or if its a door and he has taken a photograph of another room.Josephson's photograph is mysterious as well because I don't really understand why he wanted to include that hand in his photograph and why didn't he want himself in the photography? by his own.
I appreciate Josephson's image the most because I like the fact that he cut up a piece of paper and used it to capture stuff that he wanted to be in the photograph and I think he did that to mostly wanted us to focus on the hand.I might look at Josephson's photographs and use his idea to make my selfie images.I can also capture stuff I mostly want people to focus on with the piece of paper. If I do use this photographers idea I might do it on a bigger paper so it can get a view of the selfie I'm going to take
